Payment and Refund Policy
Scope of the Policy and Services Covered
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all payments made for courses and related services offered by showpointnu. These services include professional video operation training, live signal management instruction, content distribution workshops, camera work programmes, and the creation of reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. The policy covers both online digital courses and any associated in-person or hybrid sessions delivered from our United Kingdom base. It governs transactions conducted through our commercial website and applies to all customers located in the United Kingdom.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP). Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate is included in the advertised price where applicable under UK tax law. Any additional charges such as administrative fees for payment processing or late booking surcharges will be clearly shown before you complete your purchase. Currency conversion fees may apply if your card issuer processes the transaction in a currency other than GBP. showpointnu does not add hidden fees beyond those disclosed at checkout.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
We accept major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express together with bank transfers where pre-arranged. Payment is authorised at the time of booking. All transactions are processed through secure third-party payment gateways that comply with PCI DSS standards. Your card details are never stored on our systems. In the event of a payment authorisation failure you will be notified immediately and given the opportunity to provide alternative payment details.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
Once you submit your booking and payment is successfully processed you will receive an email confirmation. This confirmation constitutes acceptance of your order and formation of a binding contract under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The contract is formed at the moment the confirmation email is sent from our servers. You should retain this confirmation for your records as it contains your booking reference and course access details.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under UK consumer law you have the right to cancel most distance contracts within 14 calendar days of the date the contract was formed without giving any reason. For digital content courses this cooling-off period ends once you begin to download or stream the material or when you expressly waive the right by starting the course. In-person or live components may have different notice requirements depending on the scheduling of the session. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via the contact form on our Contacts page or by email to [email protected].
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available during the statutory cooling-off period provided you have not commenced the digital content. Once a course has been accessed or a live session has begun the right to a full refund is generally lost. Non-refundable items include any promotional discounts already applied, third-party certification fees and materials that have been dispatched. Partial refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances such as serious illness supported by medical evidence.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund you must first log into your account and locate the relevant booking. Next complete the refund request form accessible via the Contacts page or send an email to [email protected] clearly stating your booking reference, full name, and the reason for the request. You should also provide any supporting documentation. We recommend using the contact form for faster processing. Telephone requests to +44 1483 234344 will be accepted but must be followed by written confirmation within 48 hours.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification
Upon receipt of your request our team will acknowledge it within two working days. The request will be reviewed against the terms of this policy and applicable UK law. You will be notified of the decision by email within ten working days. If approved the refund will proceed as outlined below. If rejected you will receive a clear explanation and information about any alternative options such as rescheduling or credit notes.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds will be issued using the original payment method wherever possible. Processing typically takes between five and ten working days from approval although bank transfer refunds may require additional verification. Credit card refunds may appear on your statement within one to two billing cycles depending on your card issuer. You will receive an email confirmation once the refund has been processed.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers
Digital courses are treated as digital content under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Once you have started streaming or downloading the material the right to cancel is lost unless the content is faulty. Subscription-based access renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time with effect from the next billing period. Promotional offers are subject to the specific terms stated at the time of purchase and are usually non-refundable once redeemed.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
If a payment fails you will be contacted to arrange an alternative method. Duplicate charges will be investigated and refunded automatically where confirmed. Chargeback requests are treated seriously and may result in suspension of your account pending investigation. Any suspected fraudulent activity will be reported to the appropriate authorities in accordance with UK law and our legal obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
Mandatory Consumer Rights That Cannot Be Excluded
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If you have any complaint about the service you are entitled to seek redress through the courts of England and Wales or via alternative dispute resolution schemes where applicable.
